Journal Entry #10

Hello everybody! I felt a jolt of excitement this week as I was thinking about what to post and realized, since this whole journal entry thing was pretty much about posting whatever was on my mind, I could talk about celebrities, too. So today I will be reverting back to one of my favorite type of posts: celebrity look-alikes! You may remember from a while back I did a whole slew of celebrity look-alikes, from Benedict Cumberbatch and Colin Morgan to Dina Meyer and Erin Richards.
For once I did not stumble upon this pairing on YouTube. I was actually watching regular T.V. when I first noticed the similarities.
Ladies and gentlemen, may I present Anna Maxwell Martin...
(Anna Maxwell Martin in BBC's The Bletchley Circle)

...and Shelly Cole.
(Shelly Cole)

You may recognize Miss Martin as Susan from The Bletchley Circle, Elizabeth Darcy in Death Comes to Pemberley, or Bessy Higgins in North and South.
Miss Cole, on the other hand, is someone I vividly remember from her days on Gilmore Girls as Connecticut's version of a Valley Girl, Madeline Lynn. She also guest starred on NCIS as a drug mule's junkie sister, as well as in the horror film Dark House.
I don't know if it's the general face-shape or if it's just the way they stare at you, but when I saw these lovely ladies, the similarities were abundant.
What do you think? Am I stretching it a bit here, or am I on to something?

Celebrity Look Alikes: Dina Meyer VS Erin Richards

This will probably be my last Celebrity Look Alikes post for a while. I really want to refocus my blog on the writing aspect, as I set out to do in the beginning. So, I hope you enjoy this post before the meme goes on a hiatus.
Our candidates today are the lovely Dina Meyer and Erin Richards.

(Dina Meyer picture from the Heroes for Hire website, http://heroesforhire.us)

(Erin Richards at the premier of The Quiet Ones)
You've probably seen Meyer in numerous roles including Johnny Mnemonic, Starship Troopers, ABC's Castle, and CBS's NCIS. Richards, on the other hand, has most recently been seen on FOX's new series Gotham as Barbara Kean, although you may also have seen her in The Quiet Ones, Open Grave, and the BBC's Merlin. These women both have some intense stares, ethereal baby blues, and luscious textured locks. Clearly there's a secret to keeping your face acne-free. (Side note: Acne doesn't end when you're seventeen! This is something they don't tell you: you get it the rest of your life!) Their chins are also slightly pointed, and they both have arched eyebrows and nude-colored lips. The biggest contrast is their hair. I wonder what Miss Richards would look like with auburn hair. I find it interesting that Richards plays a character named Barbara on Gotham, which centers around the fictitious city from the DC universe before the pseudo name Batman came to be. Dina Meyer starred in Birds of Prey (2002-2003) as Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl aka Oracle. Do I see a character parallel here? Granted, Gotham has only aired one episode (Mondays at 8/7c on FOX) but it has already been hinted that Barbara Kean has a shady past with another character on the show. I wonder if it has anything to do with computer hacking. If so, that would be a great set-up if she were eventually to become Oracle. Although that would mean Oracle would be much older than Bruce Wayne once he and she connected.
Ahem.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this little post. Once again, I hope to post more writing-based posts in the future. Stay tuned!

Celebrity Look Alikes: Nicolas Giraud VS Kit Harington

This seems to be the only thing I'm good for these days. What can I say? Between writing and college, my methods of detoxing are pretty slim. So I find quite a few people who share certain resemblances.
On that note, here are two more that I think you'll find rather interesting. Say hello to Nicolas Giraud and Kit Harington.

(Above, French actor Nicolas Giraud from the movie The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec)

(Above, actor Kit Harington showing off his Jon Snow figurine; known for HBO's television series Game of Thrones)

I first saw Mr. Giraud while watching The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec, a French film that kind of reminded me of the movie The Grand Budapest Hotel. Both films are extremely entertaining. They contain elements you certainly won't find in your typical comedy sketch.
You might recognize Mr. Harington for his role as Jon Snow on HBO's mega-hit series Game of Thrones.
Both men have incredibly dark features: black curly hair, dark eyes, and a generous growth of hair around the jawline. They may not be twins, but I think they could even play brothers.
That's all I have for now. I promise to get make to more writerly stuff soon. Believe me, the wheels have been turning. If our bodies could indicate the kind of workouts our minds got on a daily basis, there would be no need for gyms.
Have a wonderful week.

Celebrity Look-Alikes: Jennifer Ehle VS Meryl Streep

So I was watching this video montage of period drama couples (courtesy of YouTube). By period dramas, I mean movies like Pride and Prejudice, North and South, and Tess of the D'Ubervilles, although the genre could extend to include many Renaissance-y movies like Ever After, or even Phantom of the Opera. Anyway, I stumbled across one such video and noticed the woman who played Elizabeth Bennet in the 1995 version of Pride and Prejudice looked a lot like Meryl Streep. However, as some of you will probably know, it was actually the very talented Jennifer Ehle who portrayed the spunky Bennet girl. There is a twenty year age difference between the woman, and I personally believe they could play relatives in a movie someday. What do you think?

Yeah. Totally mother-daughter material.

Celebrity Look-Alikes: Wes Bentley VS Matt Bomer

This is fun! I enjoy finding people who look alike. Today's episode of "Celebrity Look-Alikes" include The Hunger Games' Wes Bentley and USA's White Collar's Matt Bomer. See for yourself.

(Picture of Wes Bentley from http://metro.us)

(Picture of Matt Bomer)

The top photo is of Wes Bentley, who recently played Seneca Crane in The Hunger Games (the guy with the crazy facial hair) as well as Jerry Cohen in Cesar Chavez. The second photo is Matt Bomer, whom I know for his portrayal as smooth con man Neal Caffrey on USA's White Collar. As you can see, both gentlemen have a similar angled jawline, low-set eyebrows above light blue eyes, and in these pictures they even style their hair in similar manners. However, I think Bentley's eyes are slightly more sunken while Bomer's cheekbones are a little more prominent. But they both look fantastic in a suit and tie, no?
I hope you enjoyed this segment of "Celebrity Look-Alikes."

PS: I will be getting back to more writing-based posts as the weeks progress. I've been swamped with my own projects as well as a few stories for Helping Hands Press. More on those soon. Stay tuned! Enjoy the weather!

Celebrity Look-Alikes: Emma Rigby VS Dove Cameron

Welcome back! Here we are again, examining two stunning actresses who share similar physical traits. I noticed the similarities while watching clips of The Mentalist on YouTube (because evidently I never watch real TV anymore), during the episode "Devil's Cherry" in season 5, episode 2, I think. The actress playing Patrick Jane's daughter bore a startling resemblance to Anastasia/The Red Queen from Once Upon A Time in Wonderland. At first I wondered if they were the same girl, but as you can see, they are, in fact, two separate people.
(Picture of Dove Cameron from http://livandmaddie.wikia.com)

You wouldn't believe how frightfully difficult it is to find photos of these two making the same face. Most of Miss Cameron's photos sport similar sweet-as-candy smiles while Miss Rigby has mastered the art of the Pout and the Intense Stare. I say these with no malice whatsoever, but it was a chore finding a balance between the two actresses pictures. However, the blonde hair, blue eyes, and possibly even the complexion speak for themselves.
What do you think? Agree or disagree? Can you think of any other celebrity look-alikes, or better matches than what I've found?

Celebrity Look-Alikes: Winona Ryder VS. Keira Knightley

Welcome back to another thrilling episode of Celebrity Look-Alikes. Today our contestants are the fabulous actresses Winona Ryder and Keira Knightley.

Above is Ms. Ryder, and below...

... Ms. Knightley. As you can see, the lovely stars share some physical similarities. Slightly sunken eyes (both dark in color), defined cheekbones, and sharply arched eyebrows. However, since Keira's picture seems to have a brighter flash, let's compare some that are a little closer in lighting.

Granted, the first picture was I think taken in the '90s, but it's still valid. I first noticed how similar these two looked when I first saw Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Yeah, the first one. The good one, in my opinion, although I did like On Stranger Tides. Anyway, I saw the movie and immediately thought, "Is that the girl who played Jo on Little Women?" Stop laughing, I was, like, eleven when it came out. Anyway, it was interesting to compare the two actresses. Now you see Keira Knightley everywhere, whereas Winona Ryder has recently been seen in Black Swan, The Dilemma, The Letter, and Homefront, to name a few. Well, we hope these actresses the best for the future.

Celebrity Look-Alikes: Kimberley Nixon VS Ariel Winter

This is what I do at night between dinner and shlumping up to bed. I go on YouTube or Pinterest and find whatever it is I've been thinking about that day, and occasionally I will come across a face of someone who looks like someone else. A look-alike. My last post was also about celebrity look-alikes (Benedict Cumberbatch and Colin Morgan) and last night I came across another pair that I felt like sharing. I wonder if this is going to become a thing now. Me posting celebrity look-alikes. Sounds kind of creepy if you think about it.... Anyway, our contestants for today are...

Kimberley Nixon

And...

Ariel Winter

Last night I found a list of actors who consistently die in their movies. Catchy, right? Totally alluring. Among the list of actors was Sean Bean. He dies in so many movies he ought to be called the Jet Li of Scotland, minus the martial arts as far as I'm aware, and of course with ginger hair. Anyway, the reel they showed in the video was of a movie called Black Death. Miss Kimberely Nixon starred in it alongside Mr. Bean and Eddie Redmayne. When her picture came up I literally did a double-take. Can you see why?

Celebrity Almost-Look-Alikes: Colin Morgan VS Benedict Cumberbatch

This is totally random, but I feel like doing it anyway.
During one of my YouTube binges, I stumbled across the BBC's Merlin clips... and I could help noticing... Merlin (played by Colin Morgan) looks a bit like Benedict Cumberbatch.

(Colin Morgan on set of Merlin)

(Benedict Cumberbatch)

Well, maybe it's harder to tell between these pictures, but what about these ones?

[Colin Morgan on set of Merlin (picture enlarged because when it was resized, it looked all stretched-out)]

(Benedict Cumberbatch at the 2014 Oscars)

...Well, I think they could play relatives or something. Watch a few Merlin clips and you will see. You will be like, "Hey, he kind of does look like Benedict Cumberbatch in that scene."
